Working with WWF has benefits for the climate – and for your business.

The companies working with WWF show the opportunities of reducing risks from climate change:

  • Reducing energy costs
  • Preparing in advance for new climate change and energy legislation
  • Motivating your staff
  • Exploring new business opportunities and markets
  • Enhancing your reputation

We are responsible to the communities in which we work and to the world community as well.

When business people work together with environmentalists, government officials, scientists, and politicians, we can switch to a clean power world.

The power switch is necessary
– because we need to keep global warming below the danger threshold of 2°C above pre-industrial levels. To achieve this, we need a 60% to 80% reduction of emissions in industrialised countries, and 50% reductions globally, by the middle of this century.

The power switch is possible
because a large amount of policy and business options are available today.

The power switch is desirable
as it offers a host of new business opportunities – if you need to be ahead of the game.

Why WWF is working with business

Since 2001, Lafarge has made a voluntary commitment to reduce the CO2 emissions generated by the worldwide scope of its operations. With this ambitious policy, the Group intends to preserve its lead while continuing to
drive the entire sector forward in this direction.
