Leo Bottrill is a program officer for MPO, focusing on infrastructure development. He is responsible for developing a strategy for addressing potential environmental and social impacts of major infrastructure projects in priority ecoregions. Prior to joining the MPO, he spent 4 years working in Vietnam on various projects assessing the impacts of infrastructure upon protected areas and developing programs to engage local stakeholders in biodiversity conservation. Leo holds a Masters in Geography from the University of St. Andrews and a Masters of Science in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London.

Jonathan Cook is a Senior Policy Officer at MPO, focusing on projects relating to trade, agriculture, and the environment. He has worked on environment and development issues for three years, and written for a wide variety of publications. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Harvard University and an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, Yale University.

Owen Cylke is Senior Program Manager for MPO’s Trade Liberalization, Rural Poverty and the Environment Project. Prior to joining MPO, he worked with Winrock International where he managed a policy project directed to issues of industry, growth and the environment in Southeast Asia. Earlier Owen was engaged on similar issues with India’s Tata Energy Research Institute and a university research consortium in the midwest of the United States. Owen also has been resident with international development programs and organizations in the Ivory Coast, Kenya, Afghanistan, Egypt and India. He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia and is a graduate of Yale University and Yale Law School.

Sarah Davidson is a Program Officer for the MPO, focusing on sustainable finance options for environmental services and on the linkages of the environment, changes in international trade patterns, and poverty.   Before joining the MPO, her work examined relationships between communities' decisions for using natural resources and poverty.  She has published and consulted on international forestry and certification issues, smart growth and rural planning, and agriculture and trade policy.  Ms. Davidson holds a B.A. in comparative literature from Smith College and a Master's in Environmental Science from Yale University's School of Forestry and Environmental Science.

Pablo Gutman is Senior Policy Advisor at the MPO and manages the Payment for Ecosystem Services Program. Before joining the MPO he worked for over 20 years in environmental and development issues in more than a dozen countries, and with a variety of institutions, including universities, NGOs, governments, regional and international agencies, development banks and private business. Mr. Gutman holds a degree on Political Economy from the University of Buenos Aires and a MSc. in Environmental Economics from the University of London. He has lectured in several countries, and authored over 60 technical papers and books published in scientific journals and collected works.



Reimund Kube:

Reimund Kube is Program Officer for the Poverty and Environment program. Reimund worked for more than 12 years with European development agencies in South East Asia, the Brasilian Amazon, and East Africa in programs of agricultural development and community-based management of natural resources. He holds a Masters degree in International Agricultural Development from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, and has authored numerous articles in development magazines.

Marta Miranda is Senior Program Officer for MPO's extractive industries program. Prior to joining the MPO, Marta spent nine years at the World Resources Institute, where she conducted research on global extractive industries policies, with a national emphasis on Venezuela, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea. While at WRI, she also helped establish the Venezuela chapter of Global Forest Watch, a project aimed at tracking development and change in the world's forests. Marta has edited and authored several peer-reviewed articles and books, including Mining and Critical Ecosystems: Mapping the Risks; The State of Venezuela's Forests: A Case Study of the Guayana Region; and All That Glitters Is Not Gold: Balancing Conservation and Development in Venezuela's Frontier Forests. She is currently editing a global review of mining standards. Originally from Portugal, Marta holds an M.A. in Geography from San Diego State University and a B.A. in Geography from the State University of New York, Geneseo. Ms. Miranda is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.

Brent Nordstrom is Senior Program Officer for communications, advocacy, and operations at MPO. He has worked in the field of International Affairs for the past eight years on issues surrounding the social and environmental impacts of globalization. Brent holds a Master's degree in International Relations specializing in Intercultural Communications and Negotiations from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. He also has a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from Allegheny College.

David Reed is Director of WWF’s Macroeconomics for Sustainable Development Program Office (MPO) in Washington, D.C. He holds a Ph.D. and graduate degrees in development economics from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He has worked for twenty years in social and economic development programs in Latin America, Africa, and Asia at both the grassroots and managerial levels and has authored numerous books and publications, including: Structural Adjustment, the Environment, and Sustainable Development; Structural Adjustment and the Environment; The Global Environment Facility: Sharing Responsibility for the Biosphere, Vol. I and Vol. II; and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development: An Environmental Opportunity.

Gabriella Richardson-Temm is MPO’s Senior Program Officer for the Poverty and Environmental Program. She has over 10 years experience working on the intersection of poverty and environment. Prior to joining WWF/MPO, she was an independent consultant in the field of conservation and development. She has also worked for six years with IUCN initially in their Social Policy Programme and later as head of IUCN’s Country Office in Zambia
. Gabriella holds a Master of Social Science in Applied Sociology and a Bachelor's degree in Development Economics from the University of Lund in Sweden.
