Risks and guarantees involved with this gift
This gift covers the cost of the transmitter, the satellite tracking service for at least seven months, expenses to fit the turtle with the equipment, and some of the costs of the communications effort associated with this initiative.
The cost of your gift will cover the cost of seven months of tracking, however many transmitters last much longer than seven months, and WWF will cover the costs of tracking the turtle should your funding run out. This means that you will be able to track that turtle for as long as the transmitter is operational.
Unfortunately transmitters don't last forever, and there is a real risk that the transmitter will stop working before the seven months. Additionally, thanks to over-fishing and other risks, your turtle will be at risk of being caught or killed during the time we are tracking her.
WWF is happy to work with you on different payment options or alternatives to this gift.
